Check out this article by Althia Raj of the Huffington Post about MP’s who break the law collecting their pensions.
Given the Conservative government Tough-On-Crime agenda, maybe they shouldn’t be allowed to collect their pensions if they break the law. People who violate the CDSA can have their homes seized and forfeited for crimes like cultivating marijuana. What about crimes against the fairness of the democratic process like Dean Del Mastro’s convictions. Maybe the politicians should lose their pensions and their homes. It could be said that the detrimental effects of cheating in an election outweighs the effect of marijuana cultivation.
