Tom Rees & Company is happy to welcome criminal lawyer Mat Schwartz to our team. Mat Schwartz graduated from the University of Manitoba’s Robson Hall and practices exclusively in the area of criminal defence.
Articling with the law firm Gindin Wolson Simmonds Roitenberg, Mr. Schwartz gained experience in a wide range of criminal offences including large scale drug trafficking and drive impaired charges. During his time at Robson Hall, Mr. Schwartz received multiple awards for demonstrated advocacy, including the Honourable Archibald S. Dewar Prize and the D’Arcy McCaffrey Q.C. Memorial Award – annual awards given to the student with the highest standing in the Advocacy courses offered by Robson Hall. Mr. Schwartz was also one of two students selected to represent the University of Manitoba at the 15th Sopinka Cup, a national trial advocacy competition for Canadian Law Schools.
